windmills in Holland
Review - a family bike tour in the countryside. My husband, two teenage daughters and myself created a custom bike riding itinerary with Edmond as I did not feel comfortable riding in the city of Amsterdam. Edmond met us at the train station in Amsterdam and had bikes reserved for us at a train station just 15 minutes outside of the city. He also ensured that the bikes would be the right size for all of us, which they were. Riding a relatively short distance, we were able to see and tour a working windmill where they grind wheat and sell delicious bread, tour an amazing medieval castle, enter a bunker from World War II, and see Naarden, a fortified city. I don't think I've ever been able to see such sights and have such varied experiences in the course of one day. Edmond was extremely informative and engaging and highly invested in our having a great bike experience. I can't recommend him or this tour enough. I had contacted several bike touring companies in Amsterdam and Edmond was the only one willing to begin the ride in the countryside. Unless you are a very experienced city bike rider, I don't recommend riding in Amsterdam proper. This tour was perfect for me and my family. Sandy R. - Marietta / Georgia, USA
