Cooking and baking

Cook your own traditional or historical Dutch meal.
And eat it, of course.

How about some home cooking while you're in Holland ?
Baking bread with whole wheat flour from our local windmill ?
Or cooking following a medieval or 17th Century recipe ?
(for inspiration, see cooking links below)

Cooking and baking is always fun, but may be more appealing in the cold and dark season, when you don't feel like being outdoors all day.
So, you're invited to combine a cooking session with a history and culture walk in Amsterdam, or a walk or (short) bicycle day trip in the countryside.
After a couple of hours in the tantalizing brisk air, preparing and enjoying an honest Dutch meal, that's a real feast !
For a full day program, cooking included, see Experience Holland.

During a cooking session we'll not just talk recipes. It's also about cooking techniques of the past. Always fascinating to see how (common) people managed with limited possibilities and ingredients.

The cooking is at our home, and you will be our guest.
So don't expect a fancy kitchen or special setting. This is not a restaurant of any sort. You'll simply enjoy your dinner together with my wife and family. Well, those of the children who will be around. They're growing up fast ...
Of course, we cook with fresh local produce of the highest quality.
